IRISH ARMY AIR CORPS - Vespa Mk. V

Irish Army Air Corps Vickers Type 208 Vespa Mk. V, serial number V8 at Baldonnel (Casement) Airdrome, County Dublin, Ireland. The Vespa was a two-seat biplane used as an advanced trainer and also as an army co-operation aircraft. V8 was purchased new and delivered on April 5, 1931 and served initially with "B" Flight of No. 1 Squadron and later with No. 1 Co-operation Squadron. This aircraft was withdrawn from use on June 12, 1940.
